Contact Public Officials

WE NEED YOU TO CONTACT PUBLIC OFFICIALS!

1. Send a free FAX to the State Attorney
2. Write, call, fax or email the Mayor and other key "officials"
3. Contact your Member of Congress

++++++++

1. Send a FREE FAX to the Florida State Attorney:

The Florida State Attorney's office is the entity prosecuting all of the criminal cases stemming from the FTAA protests. We need you to fax her and demand that all the charges from the FTAA Ministerial be dropped!

Send a free fax to Florida State Attorney Katherine Fernandez Rundle:
 http://www.citizen.org/fax/background.cfm?ID=248

++++++++

2. Write, call, fax or email the Mayor and other key "officials"

Both Miami and Miami-Dade Mayors have praised the efforts of police during the FTAA ministerial. Miami-Dade Mayor Alex Penelas has made comments claiming Miami was a "model for homeland defense."

We need you to let them know differently!

Please contact the following offices today and demand that all charges from the FTAA Ministerial be dropped!

[The following people are listed in order of importance. Rundle is listed here to give more info than the free fax link above, and to be sure if/when the free fax link goes inactive, there is still a way for folks to contact her.]

3. Contact your Member of Congress

We need you to contact your Member of Congress (by phone or in person) and educate their office on what really happened in Miami.

Members of Congress could be helpful in a couple of ways.

First, Please encourage him/her to co-sign a "dear colleague" letter to Mayors Penelas and Diaz condemning the police misconduct and demanding that charges stemming from the FTAA Ministerial be dropped.

Second, Please encourage him/her to call for a Congressional investigation or hearing into the events surrounding the FTAA Ministerial.

For a "packet" of info to take with you to visit your Member of Congress, click here:
